KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 28 — Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has declared that Pakatan Harapan’s long-standing pledge to reduce petrol prices has been fulfilled, citing improved governance and fiscal reforms.
Speaking in Sandakan, Anwar announced Malaysians with valid driving licences can now purchase up to 300 litres of RON95 petrol monthly at RM1.99 per litre, calling it proof of “integrity and honesty” in leadership.
RON95 Promise
However, Najib Razak ally Eric SeeTo, better known as Lim Sian See, disputed the claim. He argued PH had promised fuel at RM1.50 within 24 hours, not a modest cut after 30 months. He further accused the Madani government of ballooning national debt and burdening citizens with higher taxes and utility bills.
