A 42-year-old lorry driver has been arrested following a fatal crash at the Bukit Kajang Toll Plaza that killed a one-year-old boy and injured seven others.

Kajang police confirmed the lorry’s brakes failed while en route from Semenyih to Putrajaya, causing it to plough into three vehicles. The driver has a prior criminal record and four outstanding traffic summonses, though drug and alcohol tests returned negative. 

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. Police are urging witnesses to contact Inspector Mohd Raziman Rasid at 019-4565502 or report to the nearest station.
