KUALA LUMPUR: UMNO Youth has declined PAS’s invitation to join a protest rally against the Urban Renewal Bill (URA), choosing instead to push for dialogue and constructive solutions.
UMNO Youth Exco Mohamad Aliff Hilmi said the movement prioritises facts, discussions, and practical proposals to safeguard the interests of urban low-income groups.
Street Protests No No
“The UMNO Youth Movement has taken a firm stance to respectfully decline PAS’s invitation… because our main focus is on finding effective solutions and not merely doing something ‘half-heartedly or superficially’,” he said.
Instead, UMNO will host an Urban Renewal Convention on Oct 3, led by vice-president Johari Abdul Ghani, and has invited PAS to participate in discussions.
