KUCHING, Sept 28 — The Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) has urged Sarawakians to reject the Democratic Action Party (DAP), pointing to Penang’s alleged financial mismanagement as a cautionary tale.
SUPP Stakan chairman Sim Kiang Chiok said Penang’s reserves had plunged from RM1.15 billion in 2019 to RM155.94 million, forcing the state to seek a RM100 million advance loan from the federal government.

He also highlighted Penang’s RM400 million debt to its own Development Corporation and widespread discontent over land tax hikes. Sim argued that DAP’s governance style could harm Sarawak if allowed influence, stressing that Sarawakians should unite behind Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) to safeguard the state’s financial stability and autonomy.
