Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku (Star) president and Sabah deputy chief minister Jeffrey Kitingan has urged a comprehensive review of federal laws undermining state rights under the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63). He said laws such as the Territorial Sea Act 2012, Fisheries Act 1985, and Electricity Supply Act 1990 have stripped Sabah of constitutional powers and revenues.
MA63 Rights
Rejecting piecemeal devolution, Kitingan demanded full restoration of Sabah’s legislative and financial authority, including its 40 percent net revenue share. He also called for binding safeguards against future federal encroachment, stressing Sabah’s rights are obligations, not favours from Putrajaya.
