Eight experts have been appointed to an Independent Committee tasked with reviewing the investigation report on the April 1 gas pipeline explosion in Putra Heights, Subang Jaya. Chaired by Dr Khamarrul Azahari Razak of Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, the panel includes specialists in engineering, geophysics, planning, and occupational safety.

Selangor’s State Executive Council approved the appointments, with the committee given two months to probe the cause, assess SOP compliance, and recommend preventive measures. Chairman Mohd Najwan Halimi said the move reflects the state’s commitment to transparency and public safety. The panel will review reports from police, fire services, and DOSH.
