The joy was short-lived—his remaining kidney failed due to infection, and he was later declared permanently disabled. Now 31, Wang regrets the decision that cost him his health.
Though he received compensation years later, he lives with only 25% kidney function, dependent on dialysis and unable to work. His mother described the moment she learned the truth as “the sky collapsing.”
