KUALA LUMPUR: Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) extended their winless run in the Asian Champions League Elite (ACLE) after being held to a goalless draw by Japan’s Machida Zelvia at the Sultan Ibrahim Stadium on Tuesday. Missing key players Joao Figueiredo, Hector Hevel and Jon Irazabal, who were suspended over irregular registrations, the Southern Tigers lacked their trademark attacking edge.
Goalless Draw
The visitors came close in the 20th minute when Yuki Soma’s penalty struck the post, sparing JDT further misery. Despite creating chances, both sides failed to convert, leaving the scoreline unchanged at full time. The result gave JDT their first point of the campaign, sitting ninth in the standings, while Machida are eighth with two points.
