KUALA LUMPUR: Kepong MP Lim Lip Eng has announced plans to channel all public donations raised during his three-year legal battle for defamation to national welfare organisations. Lim pledged that the process would be conducted with “full transparency,” with handovers publicly documented. The announcement follows the Court of Appeal’s Sept 29 decision reducing damages owed to e-commerce firm MonSpace and its founder Jessy Lai from RM2.5 million to RM125,000.

Lim had previously raised RM2 million in public donations to cover the High Court’s compensation order, with RM250,000 remaining held by the plaintiffs’ law firm pending appeal. Lim described the donations as a reflection of shared values and solidarity with Malaysians.
