KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 1 — The government has successfully forfeited over RM169 million in cash allegedly linked to former prime minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob. Sessions Court Judge Suzana Hussin granted the forfeiture after no third-party claims were made. Deputy Public Prosecutor Mahadi Abdul Jumaat confirmed that a gazette notice was issued but went uncontested. The cash was kept by Ismail Sabri’s former political secretary, Datuk Mohammad Anuar Mohd Yunus, and found tied to undeclared assets under Section 36(2) of the MACC Act. Earlier, MACC also revealed plans to forfeit gold bars worth RM7 million.
