KUALA LUMPUR: Former economy minister Rafizi Ramli has turned political drama into comedy, cheekily dismissing PKR critics as “jilted lovers” sulking over rejection. Speaking on KiniTV’s Explain Sikit, Kini! podcast, Rafizi said the label of him being “sulky” came from party members who resented his refusal to join money politics or “foot soldier buying.”

“They didn’t get a place with me because I refused to play that game,” he quipped, likening their frustration to heartbroken lovers. Rafizi also mocked the party’s meteoric promotions, pointing to vice-president R Ramanan’s swift rise as proof of patronage gone wild. With a mix of sarcasm and warning, Rafizi joked that PKR risks becoming a soap opera instead of a reformist movement.
