Sabah Deputy Chief Minister Jeffrey Kitingan has warned he will pull his Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku (Star) out of Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) if the coalition continues granting political concessions to Pakatan Harapan (PH). He said Sabahans want a local-led political force, not one dominated by national parties.
Kitingan threatens
Kitingan criticised PH’s demand for over 20 seats, up from the seven they currently hold, calling it excessive and a form of “political colonisation.” He stressed that allowing such dominance would undermine Sabah’s autonomy, likening it to federal control over state resources. “If GRS bows to them, I cannot go along,” he said, insisting he would follow the people’s sentiment for locally driven leadership.
