Thai police have arrested a 23-year-old British man in Bangkok after allegedly discovering more than 9kg of crystal methamphetamine in his hotel room. George Wilson, from High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, was detained in the city’s red-light district on Monday evening following a police tip-off. Authorities said he was handed a suitcase by another Briton and instructed to take it through Suvarnabhumi airport to an overseas contact.
British Man Arrested
The drugs, concealed in 10 green foil bags marked as Chinese tea and hidden under flip flops and a towel, were seized by Lumpini police. Footage showed Wilson denying knowledge of the suitcase contents, but officials later said he admitted ownership. A chemical test confirmed the substance was methamphetamine.
