Former prime minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob has dismissed suggestions he has left politics, stressing his unwavering loyalty to UMNO. Despite stepping back from high-profile roles, he remains UMNO Bera division chief and its Member of Parliament. Speaking in an interview, Ismail Sabri said he is now focusing more on his constituency, as voters in Bera were the foundation of his political journey.

Although he chose not to defend his UMNO vice-presidency in 2023, he insisted his principles remain unchanged. “I will not leave UMNO despite challenges. If I wanted to join other parties, I could have anytime, but I remain faithful,” he said.
