Former Malaysian prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has slammed Donald Trump’s proposed plan to halt Israel’s assault on Gaza, calling it a “threat” rather than a peace initiative. In a statement on October 3, Mahathir said the 20-point proposal, drawn up jointly by Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, effectively demands Palestinian surrender. He argued that the plan would render meaningless the sacrifices of more than 60,000 Palestinians killed and the destruction of Gaza.
Trump Peacemaker? NO Says Mahathir
“Trump is not a peacemaker. He uses threats, sanctions, and demands to stop conflicts but has failed repeatedly, from Ukraine to Palestine,” Mahathir said. He warned that Hamas is unlikely to accept the terms, which would allow Israel to take over Gaza.
