Scientists in China have introduced a breakthrough medical adhesive called “Bone 02”, designed to repair fractures in just minutes. Dubbed a “bone glue,” the injectable substance binds broken bone fragments together within two to three minutes, even in blood-rich environments. Traditionally, such injuries require surgery, plates, and screws, but early trials show Bone 02 can provide secure fixation in under three minutes.

Laboratory tests revealed strong bonding, withstanding over 400 pounds of force and demonstrating high safety and effectiveness. Inspired by oysters’ ability to cling underwater, the glue resists pressure and erosion, offering a potential alternative to conventional metal implants while reducing infection risks. If successful, Bone 02 could reshape fracture treatment worldwide.
