SINGAPORE – Malaysian death-row inmate Pannir Selvam Pranthaman is set to be executed in Singapore on October 8, following the dismissal of his post-appeal application last month.
His lawyer, N. Surendran, confirmed that the family received the execution notice and will be allowed two visits daily until October 7. Pannir, 38, was convicted in 2017 for importing over 51g of diamorphine and sentenced to the mandatory death penalty.

He previously obtained two stays of execution — in 2019 and February 2025 — but the latest was denied on September 5. If carried out, his case would mark the second Malaysian execution in Singapore within two weeks, after K. Datchinamurthy’s on September 25.
