NEW YORK – Sean “Diddy” Combs was sentenced to 50 months in prison and fined $500,000 for prostitution-related crimes, following a dramatic hearing on Oct 3. The 55-year-old music mogul was acquitted of sex trafficking and racketeering but convicted of transporting people across state lines for prostitution.

Prosecutors sought 11 years, while his lawyers asked for 14 months. District Judge Arun Subramanian said Combs’s crimes had “irreparably harmed two women” but imposed a shorter sentence than probation officers recommended. Tearfully apologising, Combs admitted his actions were “shameful and sick,” blaming drugs and lack of help. His ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura and another victim described years of abuse, coercion, and manipulation in testimonies and letters submitted to the court.
