TBILISI, Oct 5 — Riot police clashed with anti-government protesters in Georgia’s capital after demonstrators tried to storm the presidential palace. Security forces deployed water cannons and pepper spray to disperse the crowd. The unrest coincided with local elections largely boycotted by the opposition, which accuses the ruling Georgian Dream party of election fraud and halting EU integration talks.
