The Selangor government aims to provide 4,000 housing units under the SMART Sewa initiative by 2028, said Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari. Currently, 1,000 units are ready, with more expected through Rumah Harapan and Rumah Idaman projects.

The scheme targets low- and middle-income groups, offering rental homes where 30% of net rent goes toward deposits for future homeownership under Rumah Selangorku. Amirudin emphasized that no one will be forced to buy homes they can’t afford. Final negotiations with the Housing Ministry are underway, especially for additional units in Lembah Subang. The initiative reflects Selangor’s commitment to housing equity.
