KUALA LUMPUR: UMNO Youth Pokok Sena has strongly condemned the Tourism Minister after alcohol was allegedly served at a recent official government event, calling it a “moral and administrative failure.” In a statement, the division said the incident tarnished Malaysia’s Islamic image and reflected the minister’s inability to uphold cultural and religious sensitivities.

It also questioned why private industry players were allowed to sponsor and influence an official government gala. The group demanded a public apology from the minister and urged Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to take firm action. It also called for a full internal investigation and strict national guidelines to ban alcohol at all government functions.
