PUTRAJAYA – The Court of Appeal has reserved judgment on former prime minister Najib Razak’s bid to reinstate his RM1.9 million lawsuit against former attorney-general Tommy Thomas. A three-member bench led by Justice Ravinthran Paramaguru deferred its decision after hearing arguments from both parties, with case management set for Oct 15.

Najib is appealing a 2022 High Court ruling that struck out his misfeasance claim, alleging Thomas acted maliciously in prosecuting him over 1MDB-related charges. Thomas’s counsel argued the claim was non-justiciable, while Najib’s lawyers contended the AG does not have absolute immunity from legal action.
