The fine was issued during Ops Selamat Paru-Paru at a food court near Sultan Muhammad IV Stadium. The vendor claimed he was unaware that providing smoking tools was illegal, saying he only hung the lighter to avoid customers using new ones meant for sale.

Kelantan Health Director Datuk Dr Zaini Hussin revealed over 11,000 compounds have been issued since October 2024, mostly for smoking violations.
