A 23-year-old man in Kuala Selangor filed a false police report claiming he was robbed by two motorcyclists to avoid paying the fine for replacing his lost MyKad. He alleged that his money, bank cards, identity card, and iPhone 13 were stolen along Jalan Pantai Remis.

However, police investigations found no robbery occurred and all items were still in his possession. Authorities believe the report was fabricated solely to evade the National Registration Department’s penalty.

Kuala Selangor police chief Azaharudin Tajudin warned against lodging false reports, noting the case is being investigated under Section 182 of the Penal Code.
