Heritage footballer Machuca Now Returns to Argentina Amid Ongoing Fifa Suspension

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 11 — Malaysian “heritage” footballer Imanol Javier Machuca has returned to Argentina following his suspension by Fifa over alleged falsification of documents.

According to Argentine outlet Sábado Vélez, the 25-year-old is heading back to rejoin Club Atlético Vélez Sarsfield after attempting to resolve issues in Malaysia related to the Fifa probe.

Vélez coach Guillermo Barros Schelotto confirmed Machuca’s return, saying the midfielder remains “positive” while awaiting Fifa’s decision. However, he cannot play for Vélez until the governing body responds to his appeal.
