PAPAR — Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) deputy secretary-general Armizan Mohd Ali has refuted claims that the federal government would go bankrupt if Sabah’s 40% revenue entitlement were fulfilled. He criticised leaders who called themselves Sabah rights defenders but claimed that granting the entitlement would harm national finances. Armizan said such views weaken Sabah’s struggle for its constitutional rights.

He added that opposition parties, especially Warisan, continue to manipulate the issue for political gain despite failing to act when in power. Armizan said GRS will continue clarifying the facts to the public and ensure Sabah’s rights under the Malaysia Agreement 1963 are properly defended.
