SANDAKAN — Sabah DAP is facing internal turmoil after six party branches in Sandakan resigned in protest against the state leadership. The latest exodus follows the departures of Frankie Poon and Liau Fui Fui, who cited loss of confidence in party direction. In a joint statement, leaders from Pasar Sibuga, Kampung Berhala Darat, Yii Villa, and Happy Valley branches said the party had strayed from its founding principles and failed to respect veteran members.

Sabah DAP falters
They expressed solidarity with Poon and Liau, pledging to continue serving their communities independently. Liau said more branches could follow as discontent grows among grassroots members. The resignations deepen DAP’s crisis in one of its traditional strongholds in Sabah.
