Malaysia ranks 10th globally for the fewest paid leave days, according to a study by HR firm Moorepay. The report compared paid leave and public holidays across countries, revealing that Malaysian workers get significantly less time off than most.
Malaysia and Paid Leave
Other Southeast Asian nations like the Philippines, Brunei, and Thailand also made the bottom 10. The United States tops the list for least paid leave, followed by Japan and Guyana.
Meanwhile, Yemen, Libya, and Bahrain offer the most. Moorepay calculated how much workers “earn” from time off based on average income. Malaysians may not be last—but it’s still a wake-up call.
