PUTRAJAYA: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has defended Khazanah Nasional Bhd’s RM600 million investment to restore heritage buildings in Kuala Lumpur, including Carcosa Seri Negara. He said the project aims to preserve national landmarks that symbolise Malaysia’s history, the Malay Rulers’ legacy, and the country’s journey to independence.

Anwar, who is also Finance Minister, dismissed opposition criticism, stressing that heritage sites like Carcosa are integral to national identity. He added that the restoration will not only safeguard cultural assets but also attract further investments, positioning Kuala Lumpur as a city rich in culture and modern development.
