Eleven opposition parties have formed a new coalition called Ikatan Prihatin Rakyat (IPR) under the theme “Save Malaysia.” Bersatu president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said the roundtable meeting discussed several key issues, including Budget 2026, the Urban Renewal Bill, the Gaza conflict, school safety, and the Government Procurement Act.

He said the coalition viewed the 2026 Budget as failing to ease the public’s financial burden amid economic challenges. With national debt reaching RM1.6 trillion and stagnant revenue, he added that Malaysia lacks sufficient fiscal room for new development projects.
