PETALING JAYA, Oct 16 — PAS secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan has told Singapore not to be “easily triggered” by political opinions from across the border, rejecting claims the party is meddling in the republic’s politics.

Responding to Singapore minister K Shanmugam’s remarks linking PAS to potential interference, Takiyuddin said the allegations were a “political shortcut” to distract from domestic issues.

He said ordinary cross-border commentary should not be sensationalised as a security threat, adding that blaming outsiders for internal debates was a “classic political deflection tactic” to shift attention from local challenges.
