Budget 2026 Allocates RM7.9 Billion to Boost TVET

The government has allocated RM7.9 billion for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in Budget 2026, reflecting its commitment to building a high-skilled workforce, especially in rural areas.

Budget 2026 Boosting TVET

Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said the funds span 12 ministries, with RM1.3 billion for vocational schools under the Education Ministry. TVET enrolment now stands at 439,000 students across 1,398 institutions, with a national graduate employability rate of 95.1%.

The government is also expanding access to tahfiz and pondok students, enabling them to pursue SKM certifications and technical university pathways. TVET graduates now earn higher starting salaries than academic peers.
