Responding to MP Fadli Fawzi, Masagos said government benefits for children are not differentiated by parents’ marital status. He added that every child deserves equal opportunities and support. Lawyer June Lim said some single mothers adopt their own children to prevent custody claims by former partners or to secure inheritance rights under the Intestate Succession Act.
