A growing number of young Singaporeans are voicing disillusionment over the country’s rising costs and perceived lack of care from its leaders.
One 25-year-old said he no longer feels proud to be Singaporean, citing unstable job prospects, expensive housing and repeated transport fare hikes. He lamented that despite serving National Service, he feels unappreciated in a country that “loves foreigners more than locals.”

Another user, a 28-year-old claiming to be a former PAP supporter, echoed the sentiment, saying Singapore “doesn’t feel like my country anymore” amid leadership decisions and rising discontent over public transport issues.
Both comments reflect a broader frustration among younger citizens struggling with identity, affordability, and belonging.
