Malaysians flooded social media with sarcasm and disbelief after PMX claimed he pays unsubsidised petrol prices under Budi Madani. Sometimes, it is better to stay cool?
Public reaction to Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s claim that he forgoes subsidised fuel under the Budi Madani RON95 scheme was largely cynical. On Facebook, Siakap Keli’s post drew thousands of likes and tons of comments, with many mocking what they saw as self-promotion.

Users questioned whether anyone had actually seen PMX refuel at a petrol station, while others demanded proof of purchase. One commenter quipped that rejecting subsidies was “like eating with his right hand even when fork and spoon are available.” Others noted that MPs already receive fuel allowances, suggesting the gesture was meaningless given their privileges. – Source: X and FocusMalaysia
