WASHINGTON: Millions of Americans marched nationwide on Saturday under the slogan “No Kings,” protesting what they view as President Donald Trump’s authoritarian tendencies and erosion of democratic norms. Organisers said more than 2,600 rallies took place across the US, with up to three million participants.

Demonstrators denounced Trump’s immigration, education, and law enforcement policies, while Trump dismissed claims of acting like a monarch. Progressive leaders including Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez voiced support. Sociologist Dana Fisher said the turnout could rank among the largest in US history, energising opposition to Trump’s agenda despite unlikely immediate policy shifts. – Photo: /Youtube/CBS
