NEW: 22 Injured in Firecracker Explosion During Deepavali Eve Celebration in Kulim

Twenty-two people were injured, one seriously, after a firecracker explosion at Jalan Paya Besar, Kulim, early on Deepavali Eve. District police chief Superintendent Zulkifli Azizan said the incident occurred around 12.45am when spectators gathered to watch fireworks. One man suffered a severe head injury, while others sustained minor wounds from flying debris.
