A cargo plane flying from Dubai skidded off the runway into the sea while landing at Hong Kong International Airport early this morning. The Boeing 747 freighter, operated by Turkish carrier AirACT and carrying an Emirates flight number, crashed around 3:50 AM local time.

Four crew members and one ground staff were rescued, while another staff member remains missing. Local media later reported two fatalities involving ground personnel. The northern runway has been closed, with operations continuing on the other two.
Emergency teams responded swiftly, and investigations are underway. Emirates and AirACT have yet to issue official statements.
