KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 21 — Former MIC Puchong division chairman Awtar Singh has accused Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim of politicising the Deepavali MADANI 2025 open house, saying it lacked festive spirit. In a TikTok video, Awtar said Anwar used the event to attack past leaders instead of addressing Deepavali’s significance or the Indian community’s contributions.

He said the Prime Minister should have offered aid to poor guests instead of focusing on corruption issues. Awtar also mocked the government for celebrating Deepavali two days early, calling the move “bizarre” and disrespectful to the festival’s meaning.
