TAIPEI: Taiwanese carrier Eva Air drew heavy criticism after reportedly messaging a deceased flight attendant demanding verification for her family care leave. According to Formosa News, the airline sent the message on the same day as the 34-year-old woman’s funeral, asking her to submit supporting documents immediately.

The attendant, surnamed Sun, had died days earlier after falling ill mid-flight. Shocked by the message, her grieving family replied with a file titled Death Certificate.pdf and a sarcastic note saying there was nothing left to rush. Eva Air told the BBC it is conducting an internal investigation into the incident.
