SHAH ALAM: Former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad labelled Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim a “cheat” and “pathological liar” during his RM150 million defamation suit hearing at the Shah Alam High Court. Mahathir claimed Anwar’s 2023 PKR congress speech had caused him emotional and mental distress by spreading lies that tarnished his reputation.

He said Anwar’s remarks about cronyism, nepotism, and embezzlement were false and politically motivated. Mahathir argued Anwar used such claims as “political capital” to divert attention from his weaknesses as premier. The nonagenarian said he only seeks to defend his integrity and legacy.
