Malaysia’s Ringgit opened slightly stronger against the US dollar amid ongoing global uncertainties, including the prolonged US government shutdown and ambiguity surrounding a potential meeting between President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping.
Malaysia’s Ringgit Strong Against Dollar
At 8:02 AM, the Ringgit stood at 4.2235/2345 versus the greenback, up from 4.2280/2315 the previous day. Analysts say the lack of US economic data and persistent trade tensions are fueling cautious sentiment.
The Ringgit also gained against major currencies like the pound, euro, and yen, as well as ASEAN peers. Economists expect the local note to trade within a narrow range amid global volatility.
