PETALING JAYA: Former principal private secretary to Muhyiddin Yassin, Marzuki Mohamad, has denied claims that the Bersatu president unilaterally rejected the king’s proposal to form a unity government after GE15. In a Facebook post, Marzuki said PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang was present during the audience with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.

He stressed that the decision not to cooperate with DAP was a collective one between Bersatu and PAS. Marzuki added that the move was politically sound, citing Perikatan Nasional’s strong performance in the 2023 state elections as validation.
