TOYAMA, Japan, Oct 22, 2025 — A Japanese court sentenced Koji Daimon to eight years in prison for sexually assaulting his daughter, Riho Fukuyama, in 2016 when she was in high school. The Toyama judge highlighted the victim’s ongoing trauma, calling the consequences “grave.”

Fukuyama, who went public last year, described the trial as “extremely tough” but felt relief at the ruling. She urged society not to ignore family sexual violence. Her husband, Yoshiki, shared her struggles with flashbacks and fear, emphasizing the need to support victims.
