New: PAS Ulama Raps DAP MP Over Remarks on Malaysia Airlines Alcohol Ban

KUALA LUMPUR: PAS Ulama wing has condemned DAP MP Lim Lip Eng for ridiculing its renewed call to ban alcohol on Malaysia Airlines (MAS) flights.

PAS Ulama information chief Mohd Nor Hamzah said Lim’s remarks were insulting not only to the party but also to Islam, Malaysia’s official religion.

He stressed that MAS, as a Khazanah Nasional-owned carrier, represents the nation’s image and should respect Muslim sensitivities.

PAS urged Khazanah and the Transport Ministry to halt alcohol service immediately and allow Muslim cabin crew to cover their aurat in line with constitutional religious rights.
