Sabah police are fully prepared to ensure public safety and smooth operations during the 17th state election on November 29. State Police Commissioner Datuk Jauteh Dikun confirmed that 8,900 personnel—including 1,200 officers from Sarawak and Bukit Aman—will be deployed statewide.

Security Tight for Nov 29 Polls

Coordination meetings with the Election Commission and other agencies have streamlined logistics and roles. Police are also preparing for challenges in remote and island areas, especially disruptions from the northeast monsoon. Early voting is set for November 25, with nomination day on November 15. Jauteh urged all parties to follow election rules and avoid provocation during the campaign period.
