Tanah Merah MP Ikmal Hisham Abdul Aziz has proposed a one-off RM500 incentive for civil servants, police, and military personnel involved in the 47th ASEAN Summit. He highlighted their tireless efforts, from early rehearsals to round-the-clock logistics and security coordination, noting that some staff have been stationed in KL hotels for weeks, away from family.
Thousands Mobilized for ASEAN
Teachers, drivers, health workers, and Wisma Putra officers were among those mobilized. Ikmal stressed that while RM500 may seem modest, it would be a meaningful gesture of appreciation. He urged the Prime Minister and Chief Secretary to consider the proposal under Budget 2026.
