US President Donald Trump arrived in Malaysia on October 26 to witness the signing of a peace accord between Thailand and Cambodia, held on the sidelines of the 47th ASEAN Summit.

The ceremony was rescheduled at the request of Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul following the passing of Thailand’s Queen Mother. Trump expressed condolences and reaffirmed his commitment to peace efforts.
The Kuala Lumpur Peace Accord builds on a July ceasefire that ended five days of deadly border clashes, which killed over 40 people and displaced 300,000. Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim also played a key role in facilitating the agreement.
