Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Chinese Premier Li Qiang held a 15-minute closed-door meeting in Kuala Lumpur, focusing on trade, investment, and regional stability. 

Anwar Deepen Malaysia and China Ties

China expressed support for peace efforts in the Cambodia–Thailand border conflict and Myanmar crisis. The leaders discussed collaboration in high-tech sectors, including the Automotive High-Tech Valley (AHTV), semiconductor development, and rare earth elements. 

Infrastructure projects like the ECRL extension and the Perak–Penang water pipeline were also highlighted. Malaysia invited Chinese tech firms to expand locally and welcomed China’s role in the ASEAN Power Grid. The meeting coincided with the ASEAN–China Free Trade Area upgrade.
