Shah Alam, Oct. 28 – Bersatu president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has fiercely criticized the Malaysian government’s exuberant welcome for U.S. President Donald Trump upon his arrival at KLIA, labeling it “inappropriate” and a betrayal of humanitarian principles.
Lavish Welcome
The Pagoh MP, in a Monday statement, questioned the diplomatic fanfare, arguing it glorifies a leader linked to U.S. support for Israel’s alleged atrocities against Palestinians in Gaza, where civilians face starvation and death.
“While Palestinians bathe in blood, we roll out the red carpet for a symbol of American arrogance shielding genocide,” Muhyiddin said. He urged caution in hosting figures tied to such policies, emphasizing Malaysia’s moral stance over guest status. The former PM stressed that excessive enthusiasm undermines national dignity.
